Nano technologies applied to space travel pathologies and their applications on Earth.
Swiss NanoTech and its partner, Supersonic BioTech SA, are conducting a series of experiments on anti-aging compounds found in medicinal plants and mushrooms at the ISS Laboratory. Our experiment focuses on various factors of aging that can be mitigated by active ingredients found in plants and mushrooms. We utilize a proprietary technology based on phyto-nanotechnology. One of these factors is known as cellular senescence.
FIRST EXPERIMENT
What are Senescent Cells? Senescent cells are cells that have stopped dividing but have not died. The accumulation of these cells in the body over the years contributes to tissue dysfunction and inflammation. These factors result in a decline in the body's ability to repair and maintain tissues and organs, which ultimately leads to aging and a variety of age-related diseases.

During this mission, our partner Supersonic Bio Tech SA will produce a phyto-nanoemulsion of a well-known plant under microgravity. This unique environment will allow us to potentially create a stronger therapeutical effect and a high stability for the final product.
SPX MISSION FOLLOW UP
Swiss Nanotech & Supersonic Bio Tech will start a space campaign in 2023 to measure the potency of a selection of active ingredients present in nature against human aging. It will help us creating products for people on earth but also to protect future long haul space travelers and longtime resident (Moon station) against microgravity and irradiations. These can rapidly develop pathologies such as accelerated aging, Spaceflight-Associated Neuro-Ocular Syndrome (SANS), Osteoporosis, cancers and many others.
THE TECHNOLOGY
A Lab-on-a-chip is a remote-controlled small device that integrates many laboratory functions onto a single chip or a stack of chips. It is installed in a "shoe box" generally containing a variety of sensors and a microscope
The use of space for research makes our technology greener than normal cosmetic companies. Pre-clinical trials are done without animals and is done using free energy.

SECOND EXPERIMENT
Our partnership with Innovaspace focuses on conducting experiments in space with the ultimate goal of creating an anti-radiation protective gear and cream. This cream will be specifically designed to shield against space radiation for astronauts and Earth-based radiation sources such as UV rays and nuclear exposure. By working together, we aim to develop a product that will revolutionize protection from radiation, both on Earth and beyond.
